Hello everyone. This is Mieko, the instructor for the sushi class reporting. I think we can call this attempt a success. Actually, a great success.
Mandy and I raised about 500 dollars, which will go straight to Halcyon Neighborhood Association then come to CERT, where it will fund overhead (such as printing), program costs and giveaways, like last year’s trauma kits and gas shut-off wrenches.
For those of you that bought the tickets and came, thank you very, very much. Great students make great classes. We had such a good vibe going.
I had fun. Guessing from the way the food on the table vanished at the end of the class, people liked it, too.
Having spent a ton of time stabilizing the recipe, figuring out the curriculum, and enjoying the class reaction I would love to teach the class again. Whether I will be able to or not will depend largely on community interest. f you know someone who’d like to learn to make veggie sushi, please contact me firstname.lastname@example.org, or Halcyon CERT email@example.com.
Class size is limited – only 10 seats available! If this event sells out, you can add your name to the waitlist. If a spot opens up you will be contacted by email with purchasing instructions. If there are many people on the waitlist, we will find another date to offer the same class.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Halycon Neighborhood Association Community Emergency Response Team (HNA CERT).
